Meet the Bee-Bot
- Today you will be working in groups.
- Meet the Bee-Bot. Pick it up and discuss what you can see. Look at the buttons, colours, eyes and wheels. Experiment with the Bee-Bot on the floor.
- What did the Bee-Bot do when the different buttons were pressed?
- What sounds did it make?
- Discuss what each of the buttons is for. Ask your teacher if you need further help.
What is an Algorithm?
- Watch the video below.
- How do you draw a square? This set of instructions is called an ‘algorithm’.
- Enter these instructions into the Bee-Bot and press “Go”.
- Observe the Bee-Bot. Did it move in the shape of a square?
- Can you make the shape of a rectangle?
